Verna was raised in Fruitland and graduated from Fruitland High School. She attended TVCC and Northwest Nazarene graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Education. She taught first, second, third, and title I for Ontario School District. She has one daughter and three grandchildren. She believes that by respecting each child and their self-worth, they will learn. She truly enjoys every child at Annex and hopes that she can make a difference in their education.
